Hermes, the exhibition tribute to the big cats Robert Dallet
An exhibition commissioned by the French fashion house to pay tribute to the artist and illustrator love of Africa and its big cats, whose designs became loin luxury
Lions, tigers, leopards and other big cats accurately portraits and elegance in the reproductions of a great French artist.
The Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan, GAM, is hosting the exhibition Strong and fragile: the big cats in the art of Robert Dallet wanted by the Parisian fashion house Hermès to pay tribute to the twenty-year collaboration with the artist who died in 2006. His fact many objects designed for the fashion house: as the 25 carrés including the iconic Jungle love in 2000 and Tendresse féline and Les Tigreaux, both in 2012. on display in Milan on the other hand there are more than 60 paintings, drawings and sketches selected by both the Emile Hermès collection is the private collection of Robert Dallet family. Eight species of big cats illustrated: tiger, lion, leopard, cheetah, puma, jaguar, snow leopard and clouded leopard.
The exhibition, curated by Dominique Surh of Leiden Collection, a private collection of art of Thomas Kaplan, the founder of Panthera (the world organization for the protection of wild cats based in the US), and with contributions from MENEHOULD de Bazelaire, director of Cultural Heritage Hermès, is also accompanied by a book published by the French fashion house in cooperation with the French publishing house Actes Sud.
